La Rabassière is a comfortable, well equipped family B&B (bed and breakfast, homestay, lodge) at the very centre of Provence in the South of France. We are in easy reach of Aix, Arles, Avignon, Marseille and the Luberon, the Camargue, and the Alpilles. Sporting activities at the house or close by include tennis, sailing, the sea, golf and trekking. We love having visitors and enjoy the challenge of making your holiday a happy one. Evening meals can be provided - and cooking lessons too if you are interested; we all eat together and dinner is a very special moment; not just for eating and drinking but also to discuss the experiences of the day and plans for tomorrow. However there are also good local restaurants within a quarter of an hours drive.

Up to now, guests have found out about us either by word of mouth or through one of the guides in which we are mentioned. The write ups in these guides are usually put together by the publisher after a thorough inspection of the house, and are the most objective source of information we can offer. It may be helpful to discuss a rough plan of your holiday in advance. However this is only really necessary if it involves booking festival tickets or setting up outside resources such as cooking lessons. We offer a number of theme holidays: Provençal cuisine, local décor, the French language, trekking, the artists of Provence..... and are usually able to add others, particularly outside the main holiday season from June to October.

However most visitors like to mix sightseeing and other activities with relaxing around the property.Children of any age are welcome, although we prefer not to have noisy small ones at the dinner table. Sometimes young people prefer a separate table next to ours on the terrace.

We accommodate guests with a degree of physical handicap, and can offer rooms on the ground floor with direct access to the terrace and garden.. However pets are not acceptable in the house and smoking strongly discouraged.
The home team is made up of Michael Frost, who is English, but has spent about half his adult life in France, and is a very keen Provençal cook, and Thevi who comes from Singapore.
