Walking les Opies (le 29.05.2017)

The spring has come and it's marvellous weather for walking, so I've just tried out three new circuits around Les Opies, the highest point in the Alpilles marked by a hut with a visitors book. Surprisingly none of these appear in the guides I have, and none are marked on the ground. So I'm looking forward to taking guests on at least one of them; they vary between two and three hours. Closer to home, the wisteria on the terrace is magnificent

As usual there will be a number of outstanding chamber music and opera festivals, with the Concerts de l'Amitié in June, Musique à la Ferme in July and the Empiri in Salon in early August Musicians from at least two of them will probably be staying here at the house.

Two other bits of news: firstly the Village des Marques is up and running in nearby Miramas. Rather to my surprise it is super and well worth a visit even if you don't buy anything. Second I now have a 9 month old grand son who lives with my daughter in Cameroun. They were here last week and left some great  pictures: like this one, with another regular guest,  and the one above
